Review: Fynale J15 Green

Allo!  Today I jump back on the lens review bandwagon~.  I've been trying to figure out my school schedule and when I have free time, and I think I found a balance. 8)   So here! Have a review written & recorded when I was still sick a few weeks ago.  ~~   The lenses herein were super-kindly sponsored by LoveShoppingholics.

Enlargement: 8/10 Ehhh, I think these are supposed to be 15 mm?  Whatever their true DIA, they only enlarge like a 14.5 mm lens on my eyes.

Colour/Design: 6.5/10  This colour is not very light.  It is reminiscent of the Geo Angel Green, actually, which also tends to look dark green.  (However, the Angel series' pigment is very opaque-- these J15 Greens are fairly translucent.  This allows a little bit of a halo effect, sometimes.)  ~~  Design-wise, there is no shortage of 'flower petal' lens designs, and this one is pretty enough.

Comfort: 9/10  I find Belmore and Vassen lenses (the brands Fynale OEMs) to be very comfy.

(Apologies for my hair. :/  The Dayquil told me it would look great.)

All in all, these are rather disappointing. I had a rare moment where I believed the advertisement picture(s). ; _ ;  I rarely do, but they looked so opaque and light.  The comfort and pattern are great, but I am very picky about green lenses.  Green does not look good on me in general, so I want a worthwhile colour.  ~~  If you prefer a more subtle green lens with an interesting pattern, and don't mind a cute halo effect, though, the Fynale J15 Green are right up your alley. ;P

Okay, first order of business? CHECK OUT MY SISTER'S BLOG!! :D  She finally made one and I cannot wait to see where she goes with it next. She is one of the most creative people I have ever met (in about every arena), smart, and an extremely sharp dresser to boot. She's super-sweet and you'll love her-- I promise!

So yeah.  GO SEE HER BLOG, Y'ALL~.

Secondly, as I stated earlier, I am (sort of) alive, still. I got over my awful cold, but my body has moved on to new adventures.  That is, I've been having dizzy spells lately. (I generally have low blood pressure, as does my brother, but neither of us has ever had this symptom.)   My diet's what it always has been, and the only thing I'm doing differently is waking up 2 hours earlier for school.

I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday, so hopefully I'll find an answer then.

P.S. Yes, I started school again, and I'm commuting. So I have, like, 10 hour days, now. Ew. Blogging time has been reduced~.

OOTDs

5 July

Went shopping on a hot day (96° F/ 35° C)!  Had to buy shorts and tops to wear on vacation and look for a semi-formal dress to wear to my grandfather's 80th birthday party. :] (Found the dress at F21. ♥)  I wore makeup (and lenses), which is rather rare.

Ran boring errands: had to return a purchase at Macy's, pre-order Assassin's Creed 3 (fawk yeahhh), and pick up a check.

Went to PennDOT (the 'DMV') to renew my expiring state ID. (Yes: I have no driver's license. I keep forgetting to take the driver's test before my learner's permit expires. Oops...) Boring outfit, I know~.

24 August

(Sorry for the bad lighting: this was later in the evening.)

Mother took me out for Friday dinner (at Bertucci's). C:  Ah-- and that's the same necklace I wore in the first OOTD. Just so ya' know~.

The Return (I'm alive! Mostly...)

(Vacation feet~.)

So I am, in fact, back!   :D

.... I am also very sick.  D:   (Rebounding, though!  My voice is back, and my asthma isn't trying to kill me [too much].)

For those of you who don't speak to me IRL or see me on FaceBook, you may not have known where I jetted of to. That would be Jamaica!

My mum and I flew down for my grandfather's 80th  birthday party. Because that's where my family is from. Jamaica. (No really! I was born there, actually.)  So yeah: friends & cousins & aunties & uncles & one set of grandparents still live there.

Mummy and I spent a few days at my grandparents' house in Highgate, St. Mary, and then drove down to 'Ochie' (Ocho Rios-- in St. Ann) for the rest of our stay. (More family-- including my brother-- flew in and joined us at a villa.)

As always, we had a great time, and I got a great tan. (Seriously- I'm, like, 5 shades darker. Haha.)

Would you lot care for a 'vacation photo-post'? It would be 90% pictures and not too much text.  Anyway, I have quite a few posts planned: first is a lens review!

Review: Prodigurls Burberry Grey

Enlargement: 8/10  These are in the 14.5~15 mm range and enlarge pretty decently. The look like they are maybe 14.7 mm or so~.

 

Colour/Design: 8/10  The Burberry Grey is a fairly light grey-- in daylight, anyway. It actually looks lighter on video/in photos than in real life, perhaps. The design is fairly natural and is reminiscent of the popular 'Pure/Max Pure' design that G&G/Dueba and EOS (and other brands) make.

Comfort: 9/10  So far, these Prodigurls series are super comfortable. :3

All in all, the best way I would describe these lenses as 'soft', or perhaps 'sweet'.  The design is not extreme, but has a fairly noticeable colour. So yeah, these are not precisely subtle, but they are a good example of a 'visible but natural' circle lens. o: I know I like these pretty lenses, but do I love them?...

Review: Geo Xtra Crystal Brown (WI-A14)

You guys! I have so much good + exciting news! My lovely sister started a blog (finally), I am putting together a giveaway, and I'm leaving for vacation/to stay with family in a week. (I'll make a post about it soon.)  ---  Anyway, these fancy little lenses were very nicely sponsored by Lens Village.  (These lenses can be found as the 'Geo WI-A14' on their site~.)

Enlargement:  9.5/10 At 15 mm, these lenses look pretty darn big. Or they do on my eyes, anyway.

Colour/Design:  8/10 There is not much to say about this series: it is a design replica of the Vassen/i.Fairy Super Crystal (aka. Pretty Crystal) series' design. The colour, though, is not one I am used to seeing from Geo. It is a rather light and wan, golden brown, where most of this brand's brown lenses are darker. A green tint is almost visible in these, too. However, the pigment is not fully opaque, so although the colour is pale/light, it still looks somewhat 'weak' sometimes.

(Inside out, though? This lens is an interesting, ghostly pale grey-green-yellow-brown. ...I accidentally put one on inside out, as I do not actually wear lenses that way. Haha.)

Comfort:  8.5/10 Tale as old as time: Noxin's eyes do not like Geo lenses. :/ That being said, these are of medium comfort to me, considering all the Geo lenses I have worn. (Other folks find this brand just fine, though.)

Overall, this is one of those lenses that I have mixed feelings about. Typically, if a lens is a light, visible colour, I am all of a flutter.  However, for some reason, I am not super fond of the Xtra Crystal Brown.  Oddly enough, I think it might be the design that is throwing me off.

That is, with this design, and with Geo's usual brown pigment (often a darker + more subtle one), I expected a subtler lens all around.  (Almost like the Grang Grang series: that it would add a sparkle to dark brown eyes.)  Now I am trying to figure out if I like these lenses. @_@

Review: Kimchi Maki Grey

Hello there, lovelies~.  Just another long-awaited review to post.  This time for some wonderful lenses the ever-so awesome Lens Village was kind enough to sponsor me.  (Thanks!)

Enlargement: 9.5/10  As I remember, these clock in at about 15 mm in actual DIA, and they definitely look like it.

Colour/Design: 9.5/10  The design of these is gorgeous.  The petal-like spread of colour and lines, the opaque + light grey, and the colour(s) themselves.  The orange-brown next to the grey is so cool! Ahhhhh~.  And the pupil-hole is a rarely-seen star-shape, instead of the usual circle. o:

Comfort: 9.5/10  Like other Kimchi/i.Fairy/Vassen series I've tried, these lenses were rather comfy (although 'heavy'-feeling after a few hours, due to how thick the pigment is, likely).

Overall, I like these lenses exactly as much as I liked my Kimchi Maki Yellow. That is-- a lot. The colours are spectacularly light and opaque and the design is like no other series out there. I only wish there were more colours available besides the yellow and grey.
