Review: Geo Color Nine/9 Color Aqua (Blue) (AN-A49)

Hey!  So here's the first review of my 'oh my gosh-- I actually want to blog again!' tour. Haha.  Hopefully, the lovely and endlessly kind Love Shoppingholics-- who sponsored these lenses-- will still talk to me. Eh heh heh...

(My haiiirrr! Ew.. I know, I know.Gross. I am actually colouring it [red] tomorrow, though!)

Enlargement: 6.5/10  The Venus Eye (aka. Mi E-Type, aka. Geo Color Nine) design is barely enlarging.

Colour/Design: 10/10 May I begin by saying  NRECRLHTWEUITNMSE RGESNAADH ASDGHLJFI7R4SJJE.  Oh. Sorry: I got a bit overexcited, there.  What I meant to say is that this is a very intense lens colour.  It is very visible in real life, too, and not only in photos/videos.

This is a rather blue-ish aqua, but there are definitely hints of the expected green tint.  The pigment is opaque and not quite light, with an incredibly vibrant outcome. Hoo boy. Very bright.

Comfort: 8.5/10  Generally, Geo lenses are not comfortable for me, but these are more wearable than most of my other Geo lenses have been.

Overall, I really, really like these lenses. C:  They are minimally enlarging (which is my preference), and have a super vibrant shade of blue/aqua. Wow, is it ever vibrant. Good job, Geo: you have me interested, somewhat, for the first time in years.

And here are the extra pics, as usual: One, Two, and Three.

    1. Thanks! And naw-- got my colour and upkeep done at a salon (thank you Dominican and Honduran hairdressers. <3 Haha)

...then I let it grow out and get kinda gross. Eh hem.

Basically? I got it lifted to a medium red-brown and had light blonde highlights put in. A few months later I got a few inches (my virgin black roots) lifted to a darker red brown.

From there, my roots have grown in a few inches, again. Haha.

    1. Pahaha- thank you! Don't forgot that I use a bit of useful image editing on my under eye bags and a couple blemishes. O: (My skin really *has* cleared up a *lot*, though.)

Really? Your skin looks ~amazing~. I'd do about anything to have mine look that great. O:

  5. Noxin, love. These lenses look absolutely lovely on you.
One question though, would you have preferred them a bit bigger or do you think that colour and design serve best for the smaller size?

    1. Tough question. I would not necessarily have preferred the lenses in a larger diameter, but I would not have minded if they were bigger.

Actually there IS a lens with a similar color, called the Edwina Blue, and *those* are a fair bit more enlarging. They're also a more dramatic and vibrant shade of blue, though, so the more intense color sort of fits better.

TL;DR No, I don't particularly fancy seeing a larger version of these lenses...

  6. Hey, I've been reading your blog for a while and I'm glad to see an update! These look phenomenal on you and I'm quite surprised that they show up so well. I just tried the Deep Blue colour, but I find it barely shows up on my eyes. If only they had these in prescription, I'd get them for sure!

    1. Aw, thanks! And yeah-- I was pleasantly surprised at how bright the aqua is.

It really sucks how some of the best series and colours don't come in Rx. :/

  7. Holy moly these are absolutely gorgeous! Time to buy some lenses lol. Do yours come with prescription or are they piano? how long can you wear them for?

    1. Ahaha- I certainly agree on the gorgeous matter. And actually, all of my lenses are in plano. :]

Unfortunately, these are not available with Rx. :/

Lastly, like any color lens with a low water content/H2O% (< 50%), you don't wanna' over-wear these. Try to limit wearing about any cosmetic lens to 6-8 hours at a time. (Ten is pushing it.). And every day wear is iffy, if you're set on pushing up towards long, 10-hour days.

[Some brands have H20% of 42 and even 45%, and can be worn a bit more often/longer.

Best of all, there're a couple brands that DO make lenses with high water content (> 50%), and are safer for longer, everyday wear. :D ]

  8. These are sooooooo blue!!! Oh my gosh, I was not expecting that! I am almost always very disappointed with Geo's color- they get washed out on dark eyes.

Do they always look that vibrant? Or are these pics all taken with flash or bright lighting?

I just ordered the wine red from this series. If you're interested in the review, I will post it on my blog (hopefully) soon. http://ladyserpentine.blogspot.com/
Hope they look as good as yours :)

    1. Ahhh-- I know, right?? <33 So vibrant! These pics are in regular old' daylight (ambient, not direct, to be specific). Same for all my review pics, unless labeled/stated otherwise.

Generally, on very dark eyes, these lenses DO look pretty darn vibrant in most lighting. (As always, you can watch the end of my video review to see the lenses in several different types of lighting, including low light.)

And yeah. I'm not shy about stating my tendency to dislike Geo's lenses on several spectrums: mostly colour and comfort. Most of Geo,s series feature opaque but dark colors. Some folks are down for that-- I am not. :[

I am super familiar with this series (under its other monikers: MI E-type and Venus Eye), but I am a sucker for lens reviews, so I'll totally swing by to check out your review! :]

  9. Here's my review of the Wine Red color. They turned out awesome, but I never would have gotten them if I didn't come across your review on the aqua version, so thanks!
