Final Exams Week: HIATUS!

Exactly as the post title says: I am taking my final exams next week.

I've already been totally swamped with assignments and printouts and reading recently. (Hence my utter lack of activity on Blogger: sorry again! @_@)

I've also been hired to work weekends (and holidays) at Macy's! <333  Except.. I work 10 hour shifts, so I'm exhausted whenever I do have free time, Guh.

TL;DR  Sorry for being 'dead': I have a new job and my university finals are coming up very soon.  I should start posting/commenting regularly come the 18th of December.

TOODLES~! <3

P.S.  Minor spoiler alert: this blog (and blogger) is going to go through some big changes come January of 2012. ;P  Bwahaha~.

Review: Fynale Honoo Red

Hello!  Sorry for dying again, guys! :/  University is slowly killing me~.  And my final exams are next week! @_@  Yikes. (I need to go on a legitimate hiatus...)  Anyway, getting back on topic, these lovely lenses were sponsored by LoveShoppingholics~.

(I... need to get rid of the dark spots from my breakout.)

Enlargement: 8/10  These lenses are 15 mm, but are not super-enlarging like other 15 mm lenses.

Colour/Design: 9/10  For some reason, I expected the design of the lens to be 'smoother': instead, there is a bit of roughness to some of the pattern.  (Which I really think gives the lens character.) It looks smooth, though, when not viewed very up close. Oh, and the red is a pink-red.  It is not always noticeable, though, except in flash photos or when compared to a more 'true' red.

(flash)

  - (i.Fairy) Dolly+ Red vs. Fynale Honoo Red -

Comfort: 9.5/10  So these lenses are produced by Belmore, originally: I find them to be very comfy.

(Yep: need some blemish remover/scar cream...)

As you likely know by now, I love red lenses.  (Hence my having owned over 6 pairs so far.)  Ever since I saw Fynale's Honoo Red, I have wanted it: it just seemed so bright in the advert pics. <3  As it turns out, they really are that intense-- although a little closer to pink than I thought.  Still, these are pretty darn cute red lenses, even if they don't have the most intense of hues.

And here are the extra pics, as usual: One, Two, Three, Four. and Five.

Review: (Fynale) Hello Kitty (aka. Princess Kitty) Brown

Whew! Back to reviewing!  ((Thanks for all the warm wishes, guys! My mum's recovering nicely. <33  I am definitely on back massage/heating pad detail, though. Haha.))  Anyway, these lenses were very kindly sponsored by LoveShoppingholics~.  (I reviewed their service here.)

(I look oddly pale in this pic...)

Enlargement:  9.5/10  These are 15 mm and totally look like it.  They enlarge quite a bit.

Colour/Design:  8/10  Let's get the obvious out of the way: these lenses have Hello Kitty's face printed on them.  Quite a few times, too.  However, this is not very visible in real life.  The colour is too dark in most lighting to distinguish what the tiny shapes are.  :[   ~~   Awesomely enough, this golden brown lens tends to give a bit of a halo effect, and creates a 'sparkly', crystalline effect because of the pattern. <3  Also, the ring on the outside is a dark brown, not the usual, harsh black.

(flash)

Comfort:  9.5/10  I believe these are originally produced by Vassen, whose lenses I always find comfy: these are super comfy, though.

(Awww yeah: bathroom lighting)

All in all, these are not my favourite lenses ever.  They are also not my least favourite lens: to me, they are quite average. *shrug*  The very concept of them + their cute pattern is appealing, though.  Up close, however, not everyone can tell what is on the lens. Someone asked me "...is that a ghost?" when viewing my lenses from a foot away. Haha  ~~  So yeah- these are cute and enlarging, but are not opaque/light enough in colour for my tastes.

And here are the extra pics, as usual: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, and Nine.

Quick Update + Explanation

I am so sorry I've not been keeping up much on Blogger. D:  I was already behind on updates/commenting, but midweek, my mom got in a car accident, and, of course, all thoughts of blogging and whatever else flew out the window.

I was so antsy + anxious to get home and see her. <3

So yeah, I got home on Friday, and finally got to hang out + take care of my mommy a bit. :]  Luckily she's fine, and is at home having a grand old time resting.  ((Fun fact: my mother on muscle-relaxants = kind of adorable.))

TL;DR  I am a lazy blogger, but a family emergency made me even 'lazier'.

I'LL HOPEFULLY BE MAKING A POST SOON!! Also~~~

Review: GnG Carnival 070 ("White Manson")

((Want to know what these look like on light eyes? Check out Anna's review of these lenses at Fenua Beauté~!))
*

(This is what I looked like on Halloween~)

Enlargement: 8/10  At 14.5 mm, the Carnival 070 lenses are not super enlarging.

Colour/Design: 9.5/10  You have seen these lenses before. I know you have: it's one of the best known costume lens designs available. That being said, it's helpful to see real pictures of them being worn.  This way you can see that the white is a very basic white: not blue-tinged or any such thing.  The coverage of your natural colour is also amazing: I even catch a glimpse of white in the corner of my vision sometimes.

(flash)

Comfort: 9/10  Usually, I rather expect costume lenses to be uncomfortable (they have more pigment or opacity, and are thicker than regular colour lenses).  These, however? These are delightfully comfy~.

(I tried doing makeup for the first time, like, ever. :/ )

I've come to learn that having high expectations for costume lenses tends to lead to disappointment.  Why? Because usually, the stock pictures' colours are not the most accurate.  However, in this case, the stock picture of these very popular lenses was accurate. <3 They're great.

And here are the extra pics, as usual: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, and Nine.

Review: (i.Fairy) Moe Moe Brown

Okay, so these lenses were ever-so-kindly sponsored by Lens Village~!  (They were backing my last giveaway, remember?)  Anyway, I had always wanted to see what the Moe Moe Brown looked like, ever since I saw the pics of this series on Geo Lens-House.  Here's what I thought of them~.

Enlargement: 8.5/10 These are between 14.5 and 15 mm.  (I'll measure them soon~.)  Whatever their DIA, they are rather enlarging on my eyes, but not super enlarging.

Colour/Design: 10/10 So.  I was never interested in the Moe Moe Brown until I saw them being modeled: they looked so bright! :D  I was both excited and skeptical. The lens itself looks like a 3-tone grey lens, rather than a brown one.  When worn, though, they have a truly unique, 'murky' gold colour.

The grey pigment lightens the lens up, but is still darker than the brown in the center: it's difficult to describe. Haha. The brown/gold is always bold/bright, but the grey can look darker in lower lighting (it can also seem greenish in some lighting. Oh-- and I get a halo effect, too, with these.

(flash)

Comfort: 9.5/10 Wow-- i.Fairy/Vassen has been hitting it out of the park recently: all their lenses are comfier than ever! <3

Okay, so these lenses are wonderful.  They are now my 2nd most often-worn lenses. (1st place? My Trendy Greys.)  They kind of perfectly straddle the line between dramatic and 'realistic'.  They're 2 or 3-toned, but the colour is very intense.  Plus, they even offer a bit of enlargement. Gorgeous~.

And here are the extra pics, as usual: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, and Eight.

So believe it or not, I wear things other than circle lenses.  I am speaking specifically about clothing: shirts, trousers, blouses, dresses, pants, frocks, shorts, skirts, scarves, hats, shoes, stockings, legwarmers, sweaters, tights, jumpers, tanktops, etc.  I wear them all!

Here are a few outfits I've worn in the past 30 days or so. :]
- -- -

2 October

My mum and I spent the day together, as I was home for the rare weekend. (I see my parents once a month or so, when I can leave university for a weekend.) We went shopping, of course. Haha.

- -- -

6 October

And this was just a regular old class day.  It was sinfully hot, though, so yeah.  I tried to make  a boring 't-shirt & skirt' outfit more exciting with this huge belt.

^ (I was wearing a pair of simple, black flats) ^

- -- -

10 October

Technically, I didn't wear this outfit 'out'. I just put it on for the trip from home back to university. Haha. Really, only my friends, my father, and a few folks at a gas station on the way to school saw me wearing this.  (I don't like this outfit, though, so I'm okay with that.)

(Yes, I braided the scarf/tie into my hair)
 - -- -

18 October

You can tell that the weather is finally starting to cool down and become more autumnal. I wear shorts and skirts all year round, but I tend to wear tights/stockings or at least higher boots during winter and autumn. ;P  You'll also see me break out my massive scarf collection.

(P.S. THANKS FOR LETTING ME BORROW YOUR ROOM + MIRROR, STACI. <3)

^ (In case anyone thought that I wasn't wearing a bottom. Haha) ^

(Aw yeah: no makeup~)

Review: Kimchi Maki Yellow

Have you ever seen a lens and just 'needed' it?  Because that is exactly how I felt about the Maki Yellow. <3  I rarely have such a visceral reaction to a lens, but these just looked so amazingly bright and golden and unique.   So a resounding 'thank you!' to Apple of Your Eyes is necessary for their sponsorship of these lenses.

(Late afternoon/evening: low light)

(Yes! New pic! [:< )

Enlargement: 8.5/10  So these are approximately 14.8~15.0 mm, I believe.  Whatever the exact diameter, they enlarge rather well, but not an excessive amount.

Colour/Design: 9.5/10   These are yellow lenses.  I like yellow/gold lenses.  Therefore, I like these lenses. A lot. C:  As far as the colours in the lens, there's a goldenrod/orange sort of colour on the outside, and an almost greenish yellow in the middle.  Both are super bright + opaque.  The design/pattern is completely unnatural- there is not a chance that anyone will mistake these for your true eye colour. Haha.

(flash)

Comfort: 9/10  These are just as comfy as other lenses from Sun&Bon/i.Fairy/Vassen. :] (That is, very comfy.)

(Ew, sorry! The old pics are awful~)

All in all, I LOVE THESE LENSES. Oh my gosh, do I ever love these lenses. They are light, opaque, and unnatural to boot. ;P  I love it~.  I'm thinking about trying the Maki Grey, too, if they might be this light.

And here are the extra pics, as usual: One, Two, Three, and Four.
