Review: ColourVUE Big Eyes Evening Grey

CandyLens was super-nice and offered to sponsor me two pairs of lenses to review. These are the first: meet the ColourVUE Big Eyes Evening Grey.

((Don't forget to use my 5% off coupon code if you shop there: mizvaleer ))

Enlargement: 10.5/10  I didn't notice til I got them in the mail, but they're a whopping 15 mm. (Plenty of enlargement.)

Colour/Design: 9.5/10  Soo... I saw the pic of the Evening Grey on the CandyLens site and couldn't tell if they were a medium grey or a lighter grey. So I picked them to find out. Turns out they're light grey. (Oh gods, are they ever light. <33) They're very visible in low light, and you know how much I like light lenses~.

Comfort: 9/10  These are my first ColourVUE lenses, and I'm glad to say that despite the size, they're very comfy.

So CandyLens was nice enough to sponsor two pairs of lenses for me, and I immediately started looking at the grey lenses. I was looking for an enlarging, opaque grey to replace my Bescon Tutti Greys, and these seemed to be a good gamble. Oddly enough, I never noticed that their DIA is 15 mm until I opened the package myself. (I usually don't like big lenses, and these are as big as lenses get.) Happily, though, I love these lenses to death. : D

And here're a few extra pics: One, Two, Three, Four, Five, and Six.

Review: EOS E Love-U Brown (aka. Love U Brown)

(Today I woke up and remembered that I have a blog I should update.... haha.  I guess I'll just get this old review out of the way.)  Alright, so I bought these lenses in a super-smooth pre-order via Circle Lens Addiction, which is the shop the ever-so-lovely Shara runs. :] Thanks to her, I found my perfect natural lens: the EOS E Love-U Brown.
*

Enlargement: 6.5/10 Eh... 14 mm lenses don't do all too much all the time, but these do well enough, especially for how natural they look.

Colour/Design: 7.5/10 These lenses are set at a solid level of cool. I'd planned for them to be on a solid level of AWESOME, but they did somewhat disappoint me initially. I was expecting a lighter, much redder brown, and then.... I tried them on and... not so reddish at all... Story of the day? CIRCLELENS.NET LIED, MAN.  ; _ ;

Comfort: 10/10 Supar comfy~.  EOS lenses + my eyes = ♥

Overall, I didn't get what I was looking for, but the lenses I received are still absolutely one of my favourite lenses. They're my most natural pair, and are my go-to lenses if ever I want the fact that I wear circle lenses to be undetectable. ;P (These are actually the ones I wore for that interview I had on the national news. Haha.).

Here're the other pics I took of these: 1, 2, 3, and 4.

MI Dizon Eye/Eclipse Green (D225)

This is MI's attempt at the DizonEye/Seeshell E0 design. (They don't manufacture the real series, though.)  I got them from Kiwiberry when they first began to stock lenses from the MI brand.  And gosh-- this review is months old; I need to start posting all the reviews I skipped over...

Enlargement: 7/10 After all the 14.5 mm lenses as well as my ColourVUE Big Eyes (15 mm),  my perception of what is 'enlarging' has shifted to a wider spectrum. These have very decent enlargement for 14 mm lenses, but in terms of all the lenses out there, they aren't too enlarging overall.

Colour/Design: 7.5/10 I was actually looking for an even, blue-green, but these are more of an yellow-green. The colour is fairly opaque but slightly gradates into the clear center. With that 'fade' effect, I'm quite sure lenses from this series would blend well on light eyes. Also, compared to the true DizonEye series, these do a fair job of imitation, save for the more thick/ prominent black circle. Otherwise, they're nearly dead on.

(flash)

Comfort: 9/10 I was really surprised at how comfy theses lenses were. At the time I bought these, there wasn't too much info regarding MI lenses' comfort level, so I was well pleased with their super-comfiness.

Overall, these are a fantastic pair of green lenses, especially since I wasn't expecting much out of them. They were the very first green lenses I ordered after my less than happy reaction to my EOS Flower Greens, and they helped me believe that there are good green lenses out there.  Haha.  Unfortunately, these lenses are on their way to the rubbish as I have two more recent pairs I truly like a lot more.

Review: EOS V-205LB (Shine) Grey

(No, I didn't make a double post: this review is for the grey V-205LBs.  i.e. the colour I actually like. Haha. )
*

Okayyy, so these lenses are from NylihsEyes. I was going to get the browns there as well, but they were sadly out of stock. Anyway, sadly enough, NylihsEyes site is down (you can still order by contacting the seller, though).  I guess when I replace these greys, they'll be from MyCandyEyes. C:

Enlargement: 8.5/10 These are 14.2 mm, much like the Dollyeye series, and for that size, I think their enlargement is quite sizable. :]

Colour/Design: 9.5/10 These make me want to get the Dollyeye Grey. <3 The The V-205LB series is supposed to use the same pigment as the V-209LB (Dollyeye) series, but in a more realistic design. And let me tell you: I heard at least 10 people comment that my eyes are gorgeous the day I wore these to work. That is, people think this is my natural eye colour . o.O  Weird...

(true-to-life colour)

Comfort: 10/10 EOS = comfy-cozy.

Plain and simple, these made me love grey lenses again, after I thought the Tutti Greys were the only ones I'd ever like. Haha. I sincerely hope EOS somehow still has extra stock of these lenses somewhere. There aren't a lot of light grey or really opaque and visible greys out there.  For now, I'm going to focus on buying a few more pairs of these since they're supposedly out of production now.

Aaand there are several extra full-face pics I didn't use (because I'm not that much of a camwhore, haha). Here they are:  one, two, three, four, and five.

Review: EOS V-205LB (Shine) Brown

Bah--- I stopped being active on Blogger and my blog died again, eh? D: So sorry to anyone who actually likes my blog enough to check in on it once in a while. <33  Anyway, this flu-thing I have has eaten my appetite, so there's nothing else to do at 7 AM than put up a lens review, I guess. Haha.
*

Surprise, surprise! It's a lens review for something I actually didn't like. o:  Specifically, my EOS V-205LB Brown from MyCandyEyes.  I also have the V-205LB Greys (lovely lenses they are), which will be the next review.
- -- - -- -

Enlargement: 8.5/10 Like their grey brethren, the brown V-205LBs are rather enlarging for a 14.2 mm lens.

Colour/Design: 6.5/10 So the V-205LB series features lenses with the same pigment as the V-209LB/Dollyeye series. I was hoping for a more natural version of the Dollyeye Browns I'd owned, which featured a thick, black circle and a blunt pigmentation-- no blending there. Haha. Anyway, colour-wise, these are about right. Although in daylight, they tend to look more like a brassy brown than the yellow-gold of the Dollyeye Brown. Still, as far as a softer version goes, these fit the description. I just feel like the colour clashes with my skin tone...

Comfort: 10/10 EOS means my eyes are in heaven~~ .

Not much to say here. I was hoping for a version of the Dollyeye Browns with a softer circle aaannd..I sorta' got it. :/ I mean, the colour's nice enough, but it changes hues pretty often. @_@ From a distance, they're alright, but somehow, they're not too appealing to me. I miss the 'dramatic' design of the Dollyeyes. >.> I only ever wear these with three outfits: all of them feature golden or tarnished brass buttons so the colour sort of makes sense somehow. The V-205LB Greys, though? My favourite grey lenses ever. ♥

Lazy Post: For Halloween I Was A...

Mouse! Yes... I was a mouse. :3

Beware the camwhore with a blog~.

Truth be told, this was the laziest thing I could've done for Halloween, seeing as these are just my pajamas. Haha.

The good thing about my kigurumi is that it's in the winter fabric, so with a pair of satin PJ pants (err.. trousers), and a cotton tee underneath, I was perfectly toasty.

The scarf, though, definitely helped keep me warm on a chilly, blustery night.

Why only indoor self-taken pics? Because I stayed in this Halloween and gave out candy to the kids in the neighborhood-- after walking over to my little sis's house and walking back to mine with her, anyway.

Soo.... what the heck did the rest of you dress up as? I know what Sara of Eye See Youu and Bunny of Life of  Bunny Were, but there're a bunch of you out there I'm clueless about. o:
